How to apply:

Candidate can choose any one of the three modes to apply

Obtain Form with MAT Bulletin/CD against cash payment of Rs 1200/- (One thousand two hundred only) from listed branches of Bank of Baroda, listed Study Centers of AIMA and from AIMA, Lodhi Road, New Delhi.


Obtain crossed Demand Draft (DD) of Rs 1050/- (One thousand fifty only) in favor of ‘All India Management Association’ payable at Delhi from any Bank. Register online at website www.aima-ind.org/matsep10 along with the DD details. Detailed procedure is given on the website link.

MAT Score is acceptable even to certain other Institutes for considering admission of candidates for Post Graduate Degree/Diploma programs, besides the above Institutes, subject to specific cut-off marks and other admission parameters.

Commonly Asked Questions

Q. How many management institutes participate in MAT ? Do they keep on changing or remain the same? Is the admission criterion the same for each institute? Are they recognized by AICTE? Do they have hostel facilities? What about the total fee ?

A. The number of participating management institutes may vary from test to test. The admission criteria for every institute are different. All institutes participating in MAT are either AICTE approved or affiliated to some university. For further information, contact the MIs/universities of your choice.

The list of various management institutes /universities is available in MAT Bulletin along with the admission notifications. It may be worthwhile to go through the brochure of the institutes for detailed information.

For the December MAT 2010, 33 MBA institutes across India will be accepting the scores. Some of the notable MBA institutes are IILM Academy of Higher Learning, Jaipur; Institute of Rural Management, Jaipur and Jodhpur; Xavier Institute of Development Action & Studies, Jabalpur, to name a few.

Q. What is the validity of the MAT score?

A. MAT scores are valid for that particular session for most institutes, but for AIMA-CME’s PGDM & PGDITM programs, the score is valid for one year. For more detail, please visit www.aima-ind.org.

Q. What is the last date of submitting filled in MAT OMR form?

A. Last date for submission is mentioned in the MAT bulletin. The last date also appears in the notification released by AIMA in various national and regional newspapers.

Q. Do applicants have to buy the prospectus of the MI’s opted by him or her?

A. Yes, it is recommended that the student buy the prospectus of the institutes for which they wish to apply.

Q. Is MAT held all over the country? What about a person living abroad? Can he/she apply for it?

A. MAT is conducted across all major cities in the country and in leading cities abroad. For further clarification, see MAT bulletin or contact our information center.

Q. Do we get a separate Admit Card for appearing in MAT?

A. The candidate has to download his/her admit card from aima website at least seven days before the test date with the registration form number. No separate admit card is mailed to the candidate.

Q. Is there any age eligibility for the test? Do we need to have any job experience in order to appear in MAT?

A. No. There is no age bar. Job experience is not necessary.

Q. Is appearance in MAT necessary for getting admission into PGDM/MBA program?

A. Yes, MAT is necessary for admission into PGDM /equivalent programs offered by AIMA or other institutes that participate in it.
